FONO THREE: VIEWS OF THE CITY takes the form of a film screening.
International artists explore various cities through a range of moving imagery.
Programme: Keiichi Ogata (Japan) CITY-NESS 1 (1998): Ogata explores
the threshold between urban spaces and the inner lives of the people inhabiting
them. Using film as his medium, he wonders how much we can tell about cities.
Are experience and memory in fact more powerful than any objective reality
that exists around us?

(Scotland) - neverstatic (2005): Adrift in Glasgow at night. Webcam
footage mixed with stop frame animation.
Richard Gallon
(England) – Homage to a Non-existent Building (2005): Super-8
footage documenting part of the constantly developing geography of London,
with specially recorded soundtrack by Chemical Plant.
Martin Picton (England) - Nothing Happened Today - A Quiet Afternoon
by the Canal(2004): Shot on location at Y, a displaced view from
the studio window. This video will be accompanied by a live soundtrack from
Apollon.
Olga Mink (Netherlands) - Urbanrhytmics #1 (2005): Mink's
ongoing project investigates city life, architecture and travel, Using photography
and animated motion graphics. London's abstract spaces and urban landscape
merge in this 3 minute animation.
Pirate Hairwaves (England) - Untitled (2004): Rewired visual score
and loops commenting on the banality of commuting.
Y — A sixth floor studio offering fantastic views over London.
Refreshments will be provided.
